Legg was invited by David Walsh to be one of the key performers as well as keynote speaker at this two-day, multi-arts festival.
(A) Three 60-minute performances on piano. This included being wired into a computer and ECG via real-time motion capture and biorhythm analogue to digital transducers. Legg was required to improvise to colours either generated by the Scriabin-based tone colour wheel, or to respond to my own generation of sound through the colours and shapes represented by the computer on overhead screens. The audience was able to see how my synesthetic brain responses were substantially different to a non-synaesthete.
(B) Legg was one of two keynote speakers at this event. He spoke about the experiences of playing and perceiving the world through colours, and then took questions form the plenary.
